Skills & Certifications
Here are skills and certs that I possess so that you do not need to waste time or resources training me!
OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER + 10 Hour Construction Certifications - Completed Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response training as part of a course at URI. Completed 10 Hour OSHA Construction safety training while obtaining the HAZWOPER certification. I am trained to use tools to assist with air sampling, personal protective equipment for the appropriate emergency situation, and am familiar with potentially dangerous scenarios regarding construction sites and how to approach them. The class participated in a full on emergency training scenario; I assumed role of the On-site Coordinator for the drill.
Apple Certified Macintosh Technician (ACMT) 2017 - Passed an exam administered by Apple that requires extensive knowledge of the Apple repair process, as well as aspects of repair that are specific to certain model computers. Completing the ACMT also requires passing the Apple Service Fundamentals Exam. The key to solving this elaborate puzzle of an exam was to be efficient with the resources that were given to you; this included quickly navigating Apple's service portal GSX as well as the ATLAS course material.
Computer Software - As mentioned earlier, some programs I have experience using include ArcGIS and ERDAS Imagine. I like to single these programs out because they are extremely powerful tools that can allow us to see data come to life in presentable fashions. Some of my work done in ERDAS can be seen in the Portfolio section of my site, where I have taken the time to analyze LANDSAT Images pre & post Hurricane Harvey, looking at the effects of the hurricane on the Galveston, Texas area. The results were quite interesting, as some of the changes were not so obvious, and would never have been able to be seen without the help of the ability of the software. With GIS, I have experience using the program to create a map of an area within the de Coppet Estate here in Rhode Island based on many factors including soil type, slope and stoniness class. This group project can also be found in my Portfolio.
