About Me
As a graduate from the University of Rhode Island with a B. S. in Environmental Science & Management, I am eager to make my fresh start in a meaningful career in Natural Resources Science. I feel extremely confident in my ability to transfer the skills and knowledge I have acquired while at URI into a full time position. Soil Science is my strong suit, as I have many semester hours of experience in the field with taking soil samples, describing soil horizons, and performing landscape mapping projects. Software I enjoy using include ArcGIS, ERDAS Imagine, SWAT watershed modelling, MS Office, Adobe, FileMaker Pro and more. Outside of school, I love physical activity and watching myself accomplish long terms goals I set for myself.

RamTech - Ol' Reliable. RamTech has been my rock, having employed me for the entire time I have been at URI, starting from the summer I got accepted into the University. Over the past four years, I have encountered thousands of unique customer interactions which have brought me out of introversion and refined my social skills incredibly. This job has taught me to give 110% each and every day and has made me the problem solver I am today. I also had the delight of working with some incredible people, some of which I hope to be friends with for life. I was able to acquire an Apple Certification (ACMT 2017) along with a Dell Certification that allows techs to do repairs and use the repair portal TechDirect.
Cooperative Extension - The knot that ties it all together. My time at the Private Well Water Quality Outreach Program during my final semester was such a rewarding experience. The job made everything click for me. Concepts I had been learning since day one of college like chemical reactions intertwined with concepts of surface / ground water pollution we had learned in Watershed Hydrology, and it all came to life while learning about water quality at this position. The hardest part was learning to communicate with the public, because people really only needed to hear what mattered to them, rather than the science behind it all.
Soil Science - My favorite subject. Courses I have completed in soils include introductory Soil Science, Soil Morphology & Mapping, Soil & Land Use, Soil Genesis & Classification, and more. Total semester hours in soil science / hydrology / geosciences amasses to 23. Most, if not all, of my experience in fieldwork with soils is based here in New England. Recent work has been classifying soils using data that includes pH, sand/silt/clay content, base saturation, CEC, profile descriptions, and much more down to the family level.
